Meet Jennifer Remnet,

Your Small Biz Bestie

I often call myself “your small biz bestie.” It means I support your business while speaking truths that only a good friend can. Like, “That new car you’ve been eyeing is not fully tax deductible, just because you plan to drive it to events.”

I can speak like this because I’m a small business owner too. I have insights that agency bookkeepers often don’t have. I know what it’s like to be in the trenches with vendors to pay and taxes to deduct. My bookkeeping experience started over 25 years ago working for another small business. During my time there, I found that I loved numbers (because, yes, I’m a nerd). Soon, QuickBooks became second nature.

When I officially started Navigation Bookkeeping Solutions, my official business name, I focused on a niche that was already familiar to me: entertainers! As I had attended conferences like KIDabra and Kapital Kidvention for years, I knew that entertainers are incredibly creative and talented, but many aren't as comfortable with behind-the-scenes business tasks. So, after one post in the KIDabra Facebook group announcing my new bookkeeping business, they began reaching out for help.

Since then, business has grown. I now work with a variety of service-based businesses from entertainers to business consultants. With decades of experience and deep knowledge of QuickBooks, I help clients get tax-ready. I do this through full-service bookkeeping, “clean up my books” projects, one-on-one consultations, and group education at conferences.

I love working behind the scenes, so you shine.  Let’s get your books tax-ready and organized.

🪴I love plants and try my hardest not to kill them.

📚You’ll often find me reading. Historical fiction is my favorite.

🎭 Musical theater, especially local productions, makes my heart soar.

🛍 Weekends are for yard sales and thrifting.

🍂 Fall is easily my choice for favorite season!

🚀 I’m a California girl, now based in Huntsville, AL, which is often called the Rocket City due to our space history.

📍 I have clients all across the nation from New Hampshire to Hawaii.

Things I Say With the Utmost Love as Your Small Biz Bestie

Stop putting personal expenses on your business card. Add “separating biz & personal expenses” to your to-do list.

Save more for estimated taxes. You have to consider both self-employment + state taxes.

Use your P&L (profit & loss statement) to run your business, NOT numbers from your bank account.
